Leicester City sign American midfielder Boureille | OneFootball

Leicester City have completed the signing of American midfielder Celeste Boureille on a one-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media release from The Foxes this afternoon.

The 31-year-old midfielder joins Leicester City off the back of a three-year spell with French Arkema Première Ligue club Montpellier HSC.

Boureille started her senior playing career with Icelandic club Selfoss before moving to the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with Portland Thorns. Loan moves to Canberra United, Brisbane Roar and FC Fleury 91 followed before she joined AC Milan on a permanent basis. After a short spell in Italy, Boureille swiftly moved to France where she joined top flight side Montpellier HSC.

On the international stage, Boureille previously turned out for the United States at youth level.

After joining Leicester City, Boureille said “I haven’t experienced playing in England yet, but I know it’s one of the best leagues and competitions in the world.

“I am looking forward to challenging myself every day against the best players and hopefully helping the team as much as I can.”

Boureille is Leicester City’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The club are expected to announce some further additions later this week.
