Leicester City’s assistant manager Jennifer Foster says that the club are expecting another tough game when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Foxes travel to the Gaughan Group Stadium to face Spurs on Sunday afternoon. Foster will continue to oversee first team matters with head coach Willie Kirk still assisting the club with an internal process.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Foster said that The Foxes are set for another tough game in East London.

“We know what their strengths are in terms of their players and transitions,” Foster said. “They’re a team that are high up the table in a similar position to us, so we expect a tough game.”

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at The King Power Stadium back in November. While both teams have made amendments to their squads since that day, Foster expects another close encounter.

She said “It was close then in terms of the score and I think it’ll be close again in terms of the toughness of the game because both teams have progressed and developed. We’ve also both added in terms of squad members in January.

“I expect it to be a really tough game and I expect both teams to pose attacking threats on Sunday.”

Leicester City can leapfrog Spurs into sixth position with a win and Foster says that The Foxes will be giving it their all to move into that position.

“The club has the ambition of top six and that’s been there since the start,” she said. “That’s still the ambition now. Anything we can do to try and get into that position between now and the end of the season will be done to the highest standard.”

Leicester City’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
