Leicester City midfielder James Maddison remains Manchester United’s top target ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
Reports have recently linked United with expressing interest in Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
However, Maddison’s performances under Brendan Rodgers since February have attracted the interest of United, who are said to have made enquiries over the summer.
According to The Athletic, United continue to see the Englishman as their primary subject of interest ahead of next summer.
United have recently done business with Leicester for Harry Maguire, and it remains to be seen as to whether the Foxes will be in the mood to sell Maddison as soon as next summer.
After all, this Rodgers team is playing at a level higher than expected and could genuinely finish in the Champions League spots, which makes you wonder whether Maddison would even think that moving to United would be a good idea.
Then again, if United come with a big offer, then there will be very little that Leicester can do.
