Leicester City have announced their first fixtures of pre-season, with an unusual twist.
On 27 July, the Foxes will play two games simultaneously at 3pm, with Brendan Rodgers splitting his squad in two in order to take part in the fixtures.
One group will take on Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium that day, while the other squad will make the longer trip to the New York Stadium to face Rotherham United.
They are the first pre-season fixtures to be announced by Leicester this summer, with others set to follow in the coming weeks.
Preparations for the new campaign will begin for City in France, where they will take part in a warmer weather training camp to get up to speed.
However, they will play no fixtures while there and will not get game time under their belts until they return to England.
“We will be based mostly in England because I think it is important to allow supporters to see the game,” Rodgers said of his pre-season plans.
“We’ll be staying local with our games as that allows them to come and see us.”
It has been confirmed that Leicester will also face foreign opposition in one high-profile friendly at the King Power Stadium before the season commences on 10 August.
