Leeds United make the short trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Daniel Farke’s side begin their cup campaign with a Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough, aiming to bounce back from Saturday’s humbling defeat at Arsenal. After opening their Premier League return with a win over Everton, Leeds were well beaten in the capital over the weekend.
Farke could freshen up his team for the clash with The Owls, who are 21st in the Championship after a winless start to the season.
The visitors remain without captain Ethan Ampadu, who has picked up a knee injury and is facing several weeks out.
Summer signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin is yet to debut as he builds up his fitness behind the scenes. There could be a change in attack, however, with fellow recruit Lukas Nmecha pushing for a start.
Farke could also hand starts to new signings including Sean Longstaff and Noah Okafor, who have been eased into action to date.
Leeds predicted XI: Darlow; Byram, Bijol, Strujik, Gudmundsson; Longstaff, Gruev, Stach; Okafor, Nmecha, Gnonto.
Sheffield Wednesday host Leeds United in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 26th August 2025. Kick-off is 8pm BST.
