Leeds are in desperate need of a goalkeeper in the January window and will look to acquire Newcastle back-up goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Newcastle are open to discussing Darlow’s availability and currently rate the 28-year-old at €4.5m.
However, Leeds could opt to scoop him up on loan for the second half of the Championship season.
Darlow is a very experienced goalkeeper, having made 140 combined Championship appearances with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle in addition to 20 Premier League starts.
Marcelo Bielsa is down to just one goalkeeper, starter Bailey Peacock-Farrell, after on-loan goalkeeper Jamal Blackman returned to Chelsea following a broken leg he suffered during a U-23 match just five weeks ago.
Leeds were required to start 20-year-old Will Huffer for his professional debut last month for their 2-0 victory over Bristol City after Peacock-Farrell himself suffered a knee injury.
There has been pressure in the Newcastle camp to graduate talented young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman to the back-up role.
Woodman, whose godfather happens to be none other than England manager Gareth Southgate, starred for England in their 2017 U-20 World Cup-winning campaign.
