Leeds United could be facing a potentially busy January in terms of outgoings, with Djed Spence already returning to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur, but there could be incomings too, with the window now open.

The Whites are among the favourites for promotion this season and things have started well in their first second tier campaign in over three years. It sees them sitting fourth in the Championship with Daniel Farke at the helm.

It was an incredibly busy summer for the club in terms of departures and recruiting replacements, with many in Leeds' squad keen to continue their careers in the top-flight, and others needing to be moved on to help trim the wage bill at Elland Road.

Signings are going to be on the agenda again for Farke and the club's hierarchy, and matters on the pitch during the second half of the campaign could be dictated by what is to come in the market.

With that in mind, here we look at some of the latest transfer news and biggest headlines coming out of Elland Road in the meantime.

West Ham United are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation surrounding Gnonto’s future in West Yorkshire. Gnonto was the subject of intense transfer speculation last summer, particularly from Everton, but remained with the Championship side.

According to Sports Lens, the Premier League side have joined the long list of clubs monitoring the future of the Italian, whilst Dean Jones spoke to Give Me Sport to claim Leeds are determined to hold onto Gnonto during the January transfer window and aren't willing to cash in on him at this point in the campaign.

"I don't think that Daniel Farke could necessarily block anything because it's obviously up to the Leeds hierarchy. But Farke will have a say.

"My information is still the same in that - after the whole saga with Everton and even though that interest may not have gone away - Leeds are very intent on keeping Gnonto this window.

"Given Everton's 10-point deduction, subject to an appeal, a move might be quite risky if it became feasible. You get to the point where Gnonto would have to question who is more likely to be in the Premier League next season - Leeds or Everton. You just don't know."

Spurs join the race for Leeds United's Archie Gray

Leeds' 17-year-old midfielder Archie Gray is the subject of plenty of top-flight interest following his breakout season at Elland Road, including from Tottenham Hotspur, who are reported to have joined the race for his signature.

The first club to have been prominently linked were initially reported as Liverpool, who hold strong interest in signing the Leeds starlet. However, the West Yorkshire outfit were said to have placed a £40 million price tag on the future of the midfielder, as the club looks to fend off interest from the Premier League and abroad.

Everton and Crystal Palace are two other Premier League sides also said to be keeping tabs on Gray, as they look to bolster their ranks using the EFL once again. Meanwhile, Man City and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the player, as well as European giants Borussia Dortmund.

Simon Jones of the Daily Mail is reporting that interest has grown further in Gray, with Spurs now emerging as another side in the race for the youngster. He said: "Ange Postecoglou's side have also been checking on Leeds United's Archie Gray and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White with the summer window in mind."

Celtic and Rangers are keen on Leeds' Joe Gelhardt

Leeds forward Joe Gelhardt is attracting January transfer interest, according to the same report from Jones in the Daily Mail, He claims the 21-year-old is set to be subject of speculation surrounding rivals Celtic and Rangers.

The Scottish giants are both keeping tabs on the forward and could look to make a move this winter window. Gelhardt has found himself as a secondary option in Daniel Farke’s side so far this season, making just six league appearances for the Whites so far.

There is competition for his signature, though. According to a report from The Sun's Alan Nixon via his Patreon account, Blackburn Rovers are chasing a double deal for Whites duo Charlie Cresswell and Gelhardt.
