Leeds defender Max Wöber has given an eye-opening insight into how different life is at the club under new boss Javi Gracia.

The Austrian arrived under Jesse Marsch in the January transfer window from Salzburg but played just six times under the American before his dismissal.

And in comparing the two coaches, Wöber has contrasted the emotional approach of Marsch with Gracia’s more calculated take on things.

“He’s a different personality than Jesse, who was very emotional and very close to the team,” Wöber told Austrian outlet Der Standard.

“Gracia is calm and matter-of-fact, a different type of coach. He has a different approach to football. He doesn’t always want us to push but also to withdraw when we have to and defend in our own half of the field.

“I know I have to win my individual duels and try to kick the striker’s ass to stop them getting a goal. You have to be focused at every second because the ball can come at you anytime. You can’t afford any mistakes with the quality of strikers in this league.”

In the final game before the international break, the defender claimed Man of the Match honours against Wolves.
