Charlton have confirmed the departure of manager Lee Bowyer.

Bowyer has been in charge at The Valley for three years and took the club to the League One Play-Offs in 2019.

But the former midfielder has confirmed his departure on Monday with the expectation that he will take over from Aitor Karanka as Birmingham boss in the coming hours.

Bowyer leaves with the south London side currently eighth in League One.
