Lazio attacker Pedro is excited to meet his old friend and teammate Cesc Fabregas who is currently at the helm of Como. The newly-promoted Serie A will host Marco Baroni’s men on Thursday night on the final fixture of the 10th Serie A matchday.
This contest will give the Lazio veteran an opportunity to catch up with his old comrade. The two men played side-by-side for several years, especially during their prime. They were teammates at both Barcelona and Chelsea, winning a host of trophies together. And more importantly, they were both part of the Spain squad that went on to lift the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
So ahead of the midweek contest in Como, Pedro expressed his delight to see Fabregas once more while praising the work conducted by his friend since taking over the Lariani, reports La Repubblica (via LazioNews24).
It will be nice to see and embrace Cesc again. Playing with him was a true spectacle, as he had a great long pass. He had a great season with Como and is proving himself. I’m sure he will have a brilliant career as a coach too.
But while Fabregas has found his niche in coaching, Pedro remains unsure about his own post-retirement plans.
I still don’t know what I’ll do when I hang up my boots. For now, the important thing is to maintain my current form.
The 37-year-old is enjoying a brilliant start to the campaign, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his eight outings across all competitions. His contract with Lazio will expire at the end of the season.
