Lazio have decided to break their habit this summer by retreating at Formello, but as usual, they’re set to play some interesting friendlies.

Lazio To Start Pre-Season at Formello

In each of the previous 17 summers, the Biancocelesti held camp in Auronzo di Cadore, allowing a small section of the fanbase to closely interact with their favorite players in the small Venetian town. However, the club has announced that their partnership with the organizers has expired, so they will instead begin their pre-season preparations at their training ground in Formello.

Lazio Schedule Five Friendlies

Moreover, the club has announced a series of pre-season friendlies that will help Maurizio Sarri’s men get in shape before the Serie A campaign kicks off on August 23. The first test for Lazio will take place on July 26 at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, where they will take on Avellino.

Two Friendlies in Istanbul

Afterwards, they will travel to Istanbul for back-to-back contests against Turkiye’s two biggest clubs. On July 30, they will meet Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, before playing domestic champions Galatasaray on August 2.

Burnley Set to Host Lazio

The following week, Lazio will head to England for a meeting with Burnley on August 9. The newly-promoted Premier League club will host the encounter at Turk Moor. The last dress rehearsal before the serious action begins will be against Greek giants Olympiacos on August 16.
