Lazio have reportedly entered the race for Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden who has suitors on the other side of the North Sea.

The Background

The Biancocelesti are currently searching the market for a new striker who could either replace Taty Castellanos, who has several admirers abroad, or act as a backup for the 26-year-old Argentinian. In recent weeks, several names have emerged as potential candidates for the role, including Inter Milan youngster Francesco Pio Esposito.

Lazio Enter the Race for Mathias Kvistgaarden

According to the Daily Record, Lazio have turned their attention to Kvistgaarden, a 23-year-old Danish attacker who rose through the ranks of Brondby to become a regular starter with the first team. This season, he made a significant impact by scoring 23 goals and producing eight assists in his 38 appearances in all competitions.

Celtic & West Ham Interest

As the source explains, the Denmark international has been on Celtic’s radar since January, but the Scottish giants could drop their interest in him in favour of alternative targets. Nevertheless, Lazio, who became the latest club to enquire about the player, still has company in the race, as West Ham United and Eintracht Frankfurt are also following the situation closely.

Kvistgaarden’s Contract & Value

Kvistgaarden has already made his debut for the Danish senior team earlier this year, but is currently representing his nation in the U21 European Championship. The versatile forward is then expected to seal a move later in the summer. He’s currently running on a contract expiring in June 2027, while Brondby are reportedly eyeing a transfer fee worth £12m.
