Lazio are in pole position to sign highly rated young defender Marash Kumbulla from Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Hellas Verona want between €30-35 million for the Albanian national team centre back and Lazio intend to meet these demands by inserting a player on top of a cash sum.
As per the Milan based news outlet’s report, Lazio are prepared to offer €20 million upfront, €5 million in add-ons and will allow Hellas Verona to choose one of Cristiano Lombardi, Riza Durmisi and Valon Berisha.
Hellas Verona’s president Maurizio Setti has appreciated the proposal made by Lazio but is in no hurry to sell Kumbulla as he hopes that Inter or Juventus may come back in for him which could lead to them getting more money.
The report goes on to add that Setti will not wait around forever and the coming days can therefore be considered as decisive for the future of Kumbulla.
