Serie A side Lazio could be priced out of a potential move for Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto.
Gnonto had sought to leave Leeds in the summer and he had skipped training, but he couldn’t get a move despite interest from Everton.
Recently, Lazio were linked with a move for the young Italian. Marco Conterio has reported that Lazio are indeed interested in Gnonto, who is ready to leave the Whites in January. He has already asked to leave the club and recently, contact indeed took place between Leeds and Lazio over a possible January move.
As of now, Leeds’ demand is out of Lazio’s price range as it exceeds €20 million. Leeds consider Gnonto to be a vital asset, but the player wants regular first team football and he isn’t quite getting it at Elland Road.
Maurizio Sarri has a keen admiration for the teenager, but Lazio CEO Claudio Lotito has never made heavy investments in January and it remains to be seen if he makes an exception because of the Roman side’s presence in the Champions League.
