According to Voetbal International and the Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV will make a decision on the transfer of Nobel Mendy in the coming days. The Eindhoven team have already had a deal agreed with both the Senegalese defender and Real Betis for a month, but are still waiting for a work permit.
In May, it was announced that Mendy would make the transfer from Real Betis to PSV for four million euros. However, it is now July and the official announcement is still pending.
“PSV want clarity about the situation surrounding Nobel Mendy as soon as possible. The Eindhoven team have been in agreement with Real Betis for a long time about an amount of around four million euros. PSV has also been in agreement with the Senegalese defender himself for a long time”, VI outlined.
“However, there has been talk for weeks about a work permit. Lawyers have been busy for some time now to see if Mendy qualifies for one. He has played too few matches at the highest level to simply obtain one. Somewhere in the coming days, PSV will make a decision on whether or not to continue with the process that has been initiated regarding Mendy’s transfer.”
The Eindhovens Dagblad reports that PSV hope that the Senegalese will take French nationality, so that the transfer can be completed quickly.
“In the meantime, PSV has been waiting for over a month and that will not take much longer. The club will make a decision quickly and will switch at some point.”
