Even a simple friendly can lead to big milestones: Argentina beat Costa Rica 3-1 in Los Angeles on a night where Lautaro Martinez entered the top ten in La Albiceleste's all-time top goalscorer ranking.

A historic feat for the Nerazzurri captain, who, in making it 3-1, bagged for the 22nd time in 56 appearances for Argentina. Lautaro has now drawn level with Leopoldo Luque and José Sanfilippo in terms of number of goals scored for his country, and he is now chasing down Daniel Passarella, who sits ninth with 23 goals.

At the United Airlines Field at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, La Albiceleste came from behind to emerge victorious. Ugalde gave Costa Rica the lead in the 34th minute, but Argentina hit back in the second half thanks to a Di Maria free-kick (52'), a MacAllister header (56') and Lautaro's finish (77'). The Nerazzurri No.10, who replaced Garnacho in the 71st minute, found the net with his right foot after some fantastic movement in the box.

The latest round of international fixtures is now over for the Inter players, who will return to action when the Nerazzurri face Empoli in the league at San Siro on Monday 1 April.
