Teams at the top will be looking to add that key player who could make a difference between the play offs and promotion, while teams near the bottom will be hoping fresh additions can steer them away from the relegation zone.

Moves have already been made and speculation continues to fill the timelines of many social media users looking for gossip or confirmation on who their club will make a move for next.

As the January transfer window is now officially open, here at FLW, we have looked at some of the transfer news that is going around in the division.

Burnley look to Belgium once more for defender

It’s been suggested that Al-Dakhil is ‘quietly on the brink of his dream transfer to Burnley’ after Kompany failed to bring in the defender in the summer.

Kompany failed to bring in the 20-year-old in the summer before turning his attention to Jordan Beyer. Fllowing the departures of Kevin Long and Matt Lowton, it seems space has opened up in the defence to bring in the 20-year-old defender, with Kompany seemingly escalating the need for an additional centre back.

Trio interested in League Two star

Wigan AthleticRotherham United, and Huddersfield Town hold an interest in Northampton Town star Sam Hoskins, according to Football League World sources.

Hoskins has enjoyed an exceptional first half of the season and is the League Two top scorer with 15 goals in 19 games, with his goalscoring prowess from outwide inevitably leading to interest in the attacker.

FLW understands that the Championship trio are put off by the current price of a potential deal as Hoskins signed a two-and-a-half-year contract extension last February, meaning he’s under contract at Northampton until at least the summer of 2024.

With money at a premium for the three clubs, they may have to move players on before bringing in additional quality themselves.

Birmingham City with his Sheffield United spell set to come to an end, according to Mail Sport’s Tom Collomosse.

The 21-year-old impressed while on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers last season but has found it harder to make an impact at Bramall Lane this term.

Khadra has played less than 500 minutes of football for the Blades, with 11 of his 16 appearances coming from the bench, withPaul Heckingbottom confirming that he’s asked to have his loan spell in Yorkshire cut short.

That could open the door up for Birmingham who have a loan slot available following Przemyslaw Placheta’s loan spell at St Andrews being cut short.
