With just six matchdays to go until the end of the regular season, this really is crunch time in the Championship.

With a full round of fixtures on Easter Monday, here’s what happened.

Leeds United beat Hull City

Scorers: Byram 10′, Summerville 88′; Carvalho 34′

Leeds United watched Leicester and Ipswich both win ahead of their clash with Hull City, knowing that they had to win to end the weekend back in the automatic promotion spots.

Though Hull City dominated the ball in the early stages at Elland Road, it was the hosts that opened the scoring with the first meaningful attack of the game. Georginio Rutter found Crysensio Summerville, whose shot was parried into the path of right back Sam Byram, who nodded home and handed his side the lead.

A terrible miss from Patrick Bamford when well placed stopped Leeds from doubling their advantage, and it was wiped out entirely 10 minutes before half time when Liverpool loanee Fabio Carvalho struck for the Tigers to level matters in Yorkshire.

Hull began the second half stronger, though chances were at a premium for either side. With their first serious chance of the half, Leeds United’s Mateo Joseph saw his effort rebound off the post, before Glen Kamara headed wide.

Minutes later, they were handed a golden opportunity to go ahead when Summerville was fouled for a penalty, which he took and scored after a small dispute with teammate Joel Piroe, rolling the ball down the middle as the goalkeeper dived to his right.

Hull pushed for another equaliser, and in the final minute of seven added on they sent the goalkeeper up for a corner. From that set piece, Dan James raced clear before finding the back of the empty net from 40 yards out to seal three vital points, and return Leeds to the automatic promotion spots.

Ipswich leave it late against Southampton

Scorers: Davis 13′, Broadhead 68′; Adams 14, Armstrong 23′

Portman Road played host to one of the biggest games of the Championship season so far with second placed Ipswich taking on fourth place Saints.

The home side took the lead midway through the first half when Leif Davis blasted home, only for Southampton to immediately hit back through Che Adams.

10 minutes later, the turnaround was complete as Adam Armstrong slotted his side into the lead, and left the home side staring down a rare defeat.

The Saints continued their domination of the ball into the second half, but could not find the killer blow to put the game to bed, and with 20 minutes left to play Nathan Broadhead levelled proceedings for the hosts.

Southampton were reduced to 10 men late on when James Bree was shown a straight red card, and in the dying seconds Ipswich took advantage when Leif Davis found Jeremy Sarmiento, who poked home after an initial slip, sending Portman Road mad and Ipswich top.

Middlesbrough vs Sheffield Wednesday

Scorers: Ihiewke (OG) 41′, Jones 73′

Middlesbrough heaped pressure on relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday with a 2-0 win at the Riverside.

This was a huge game for the visitors with Wednesday desperate to claim a win that could take them out of the drop zone for the first time in six months.

But it was a low quality first half with neither side offering up a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes.

Despite no shots on target though, a goal did come just before the break as Wednesday defender Michael Ihiewke slotted the ball into his own net.

Into the second half and Boro took it up a notch, peppering the Wednesday goal with shot after shot but failing to find the back of the net.

Eventually another goal did come as Isaiah Jones finished with aplomb.

West Brom vs Watford

Scorers: Thomas-Asante 70′ Furlong 90+1′; Kayembe 51′, Rajović 66′

Darnell Furlong’s injury time goal helped secure a 2-2 draw for West Brom against Watford.

Watford’s hopes of reaching the play-offs were long gone but the Baggies came into this match sitting in fifth place on 67 points.

And it was the hosts who were doing most of the attacking in the first half with John Swift and Michael Johnston both going close.

After the break the Hornets flew out of the blocks and score with only their second shot on target through Edo Kayembe.

Watford then doubled their lead on 66 minutes as Mileta Rajović turned in a Jamal Lewis cross at the far post.

Just four minutes later however the hosts pulled one back through Brandon Thomas-Assante.

West Brom were going all out now for a point and they got it in injury time as Darnell Furlong bagged a well-deserved equaliser.

Stoke vs Huddersfield

Scorers: Hoever 50′; Radulović 45′

Huddersfield stayed in the bottom three after they drew 1-1 with Stoke.

This was another massive game at the bottom of the Championship with Stoke in 17th on 44 points and Huddersfield in the drop zone with 39.

It was a bad-tempered opening half with Medhi Leris lucky to escape with a yellow card with the only real chance going to Stoke on the half hour mark.

Lewis Baker’s brilliant free kick was struck with venom from 30 yards and smashed against the crossbar.

Stoke would pay for their lack of attacking threat though with Bojan Radulović scoring a brilliantly taken goal with virtually the last kick of the half.

Into the second half and Stoke pulled one back straightaway as Ki-Jana Hoever netted a stunner from the edge of the area.

Leicester v Norwich

Scorers: Dewsbury-Hall 35′, Mavididi 63′, Vardy 90+2′; Sara 17′

Leicester came from behind to beat Norwich to retake their place at the top of the Championship.

The Foxes mini collapse saw them come into this clash at the King Power in third place but still only two points behind leaders Ipswich.

But it was the away side who took the lead on 21 minutes as a quickly taken corner ended with Gabriel Sara prodding in at the near post, much to the confusion of the Leicester defence.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalled things up for the hosts soon after though as he ghosted into the penalty area and headed past Angus Gunn.

Into the second half and Leicester almost went ahead on 50 minutes as Patson Daka capitalised on some hesitant defending.

Daka though, couldn’t get his feet sorted in the box and fired wide.

The turnaround was complete just after the hour mark however as Stephy Mavididi finished brilliantly after more great work from Dewsbury-Hall.

The three points were then secured late on as Jamie Vardy smashed in from close range.
