Lamine Yamal says his Barcelona teammate is the best in the world in his position right now | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are having a good start to their 2024-25 season, as they have won both their first two games in La Liga. They first got a victory against Valencia in their league opener, and then got another 2-1 win against Athletic Club last night.

Both these opponents were quite difficult, but the Catalans got the job done. This was especially the case against Athletic Club, with their dangerous duo of Inaki and Nico Williams operating on the wings.

However, the Blaugranes were able to keep the Williams brothers in control for a significant part of the game with their defensive astuteness. The French defender Jules Kounde once again stood out as even a winger as pacy and difficult as Nico Williams could not dribble past him even once in that game.

Furthermore, the Frenchman also had some notable offensive contributions and thus played a very good game. His greatness was easy to recognize for the spectators and fans throughout the world, but even his teammates could not help but sing his praises.

This was particularly the case for Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona winger commented on a social media post highlighting Kounde’s contributions, and wrote: “Best RB in the world rn”.

Players frequently praise their teammates on social media, but these words from Yamal would surely mean a lot for Kounde.

This is especially the case as Lamine Yamal’s international teammate, Dani Carvajal, has also playing at a very high level for the last few months, and has contributed significantly as his Real Madrid team won La Liga and Champions League, while his Spanish side won the UEFA EURO 2024.

But there is no doubt that on his day, Kounde remains unbeaten defensively. Last season, he had a rough patch, which he overcame as the campaign went by. But this year, he has started the season in great form, and hopefully, he will keep performing at this level to ensure Flick gets a trophy in his first season at Barcelona.
