FC Barcelona has always had some of the world’s brightest talents at their disposal. The Catalan club, renowned for both having and producing elite footballers, continues that tradition even today. Under Hansi Flick so far this season, all that talent has been a crucial reason for the great form of Barcelona as a whole.

However, while the club is now beyond the era of the likes of Lionel Messi and the old guard, there is now a new generation of footballers that are taking up the responsibility of carrying the legacy and prestige of the team forward. Fortunately for Barcelona, they possess the right kind of quality to do that.

Beyond just the eye-test, however, some players are even beginning to see that quality and merit be reflected in their transfer valuations. Moreover, with the latest update in the Transfermarkt valuations, a certain Barcelona prodigy has taken things to a whole new level.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal is now valued at €150 million by Transfermarkt. Previously, he had a valuation of €120 million and that has now increased by an additional €30 million in the latest updates that the transfer value-based website has undergone.

For his contributions to both club and country over the course of this year, he has rightfully been awarded an increase in his overall market valuation. This will ultimately benefit Barça’s overall value as well beyond just the individual boost that it would be for Yamal.

With this new market valuation, the La Masia talent has officially become the second-highest valued Barcelona player in history. The values being considered are all adjusted as per the understanding and metrics of Transfermarkt, and they define Yamal as now being second on that prestigious list.

The one player who still retains the crown of being valued higher than Yamal across Barcelona history at the very peak of his powers is Lionel Messi. Hardly surprising, given that the player in question is regarded by many as the greatest of all time, but it still goes on to show just how far Yamal has managed to come while still being only 17.
