At just 17, the youngster has firmly established himself as one of the world’s best forwards, with a track record of 17 goals and 25 assists, which is unheard of for a player of his age.

Thanks to Yamal’s success at Barcelona, the youngster appears to have been building a solid name for himself in terms of marketing.

Yamal breaks record for shirt sales

According to Miguel Rico (h/t FCB World), Lamine Yamal’s shirt has become the most sold Nike jersey in Barcelona’s history within a single day.

Following his breakout campaign with Barça and his anticipated participation in this summer’s European Championship with Spain, sales exploded, raking in an astonishing $2.1 million in just over 24 hours.

These figures are enough to signify the superstardom Yamal is enjoying at the moment, establishing himself as the undisputed poster boy for his club.

But as the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. This is especially relevant for Yamal given his age.

Thankfully, the Spaniard appears to have thrived under the spotlight so far, as indicated by his former Barcelona youth coach recently. As time progresses, however, Yamal’s composure and temperament will be tested.

As for Barcelona, Yamal’s growing stock could be an extremely positive sign as the club look to maximise the potential of the Spanish teenager, not only in terms of performances but in terms of marketing as well.

As the club gear up for the return to Camp Nou next season, Yamal’s stock is expected to rise further, which in turn, could be beneficial for the club.
