FC Barcelona have been looking to strengthen some of the weak areas in their team in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Blaugranes have been linked with several players for this purpose for the last few months, but now that they have already practically wrapped up all of their campaigns, they can focus on their plans for the upcoming transfer window with a clearer emphasis.

Although the attack has been one of the most impressive areas of the Catalan team this season, they are still looking to further reinforce this area, particularly the wings, to bring more competent options that will allow the fixed starters, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, to rest and rotate more often.

Barcelona would make an effort to sign Luis Diaz

In this regard, one of the high-profile players that has been linked quite a lot with Barcelona recently is the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. The Colombian forward has a contract with the Merseyside club till 2027 but is one of the players loved by Deco.

However, because of their financial fair play problems, it looked quite unlikely for the Blaugranes to be able to make a move for him. Still, the Catalans are working on overcoming these problems, and according to SPORT, if they are able to succeed in this endeavor, they would make an effort to sign Diaz, even though his price is expected to be around €80 million.

Diaz wants to play in La Liga

The player himself is seduced by the idea of playing in La Liga, and with the season that they have had, Barcelona are once again a highly sought destination for top players, and the Colombian will also love to embark on an adventure with the Blaugrana club.

One aspect that can make his signing more feasible for the Catalans is his reasonable salary. He is currently earning around €3.5 million per year, a figure which he can further lower for Barcelona. Thus, his salary would be lower than some other targets, like Nico Williams.

Deco publicly declared his intention to reinforce the wings if the club’s FFP situation allows for it. For now, it remains to be seen whether such an addition would actually take place and which new player would play for Barcelona next season.
