Real Madrid were held to a goalless draw in their final LaLiga game of the season by Real Betis.

But it was the visitors who went closest to scoring in a poor first half as Nabil Fekir’s close range effort was snatched at and dragged wide of the far post.

Up the other end it was Toni Kroos who could have broken the deadlock but his shot was seen comfortably wide.

Into the second half and it was Los Blancos who should have scored early on but Karim Benzema, and then Rodrygo on the rebound, found goalkeeper Rui Silva in fine form.

For the 563rd time, Marcelo joined the action for the home side late on as he was rapturously applauded by the Santiago Bernabéu faithful.

But the Brazilian couldn’t summon up one final moment of magic as the home side failed to find the the back of the net.
