On Thursday, MLS and Liga MX announced the inaugural ‘Leagues Cup Showcase’, which will serve as a pre-cursor for the annual Leagues Cup tournament.

LAFC, LA Galaxy, Chivas, and Club América will all participate in the first-ever football event held at the new 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

It will be the fourth time overall and the first time in 15 years that Chivas and the Galaxy will go head-to-head while LAFC and América will face off in a re-match of the 2020 Concacaf Champions League semi-finals.

LAFC won 3-1 in an empty Exploria Stadium in Orlando, meaning that this will be the first time that supporters get to watch these two huge clubs play one another.

Both matches will take place on August 3rd.
