Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho, according to the Telegraph.

The Blues are currently at the Club World Cup without a recognised senior left-winger.

They are keen on signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, but another player for that flank would not go amiss.

Manchester United are open to parting ways with Garnacho. They admire Nkunku, and the possibility of a swap deal is on the table.

Despite his profligacy in front of goal, there are many upsides to signing Garnacho for Chelsea.

The Argentine international, who earns £50,000 per week, has made almost 100 Premier League appearances before his 20th birthday.

While Garnacho still has room for improvement, United have done plenty of the hard work for Chelsea.

Bundesliga may be an option for Garnacho

Despite manager Ruben Amorim wanting Garnacho out of the club, former boss Erik ten Hag was a massive fan and gave him his chance in the first team.

“I love to work with Garnacho,” the Dutch tactician said (via Reuters).

“He is a player who needs a challenge, he likes a challenge, he is very brave, he’s very confident, our job is to push him to high levels.

“He has high potential, and now, we have to get the potential out.”

Given Ten Hag’s admiration for Garnacho, it will be intriguing to see if Bayer Leverkusen make a move for him this summer.

The Bundesliga club have sold Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong this summer and need to strengthen their squad.

Garnacho’s days at United are numbered, and he needs a fresh start elsewhere. Leverkusen would be the ideal landing spot for him.
