Barcelona are looking to make big sales this summer to accommodate the new stars Hansi Flick has in mind for the new season. Pablo Torre, needless to say, has widely been regarded as one of the best-placed players to leave.

While the Spanish youngster has indeed impressed in his limited minutes in Catalonia, the manager’s clear pecking order and the presence of higher-quality options in the midfield have forced him to look for alternative options.

After all, he is right in his part to feel hard done by the manager’s decision and sees regular minutes to be a must for his development moving forward.

Agreement reached

Of all the clubs linked with his name, Mallorca have been the quickest to act and are now very close to signing the player as relayed by AS.

The Spanish outlet brings forth an update that Jagoba Arrasate’s men have already reached an agreement with Torre over a transfer and all that remains to be negotiated is an agreement with Barcelona over the terms of the move.

Given that Barcelona are open to Torre’s sale, that will not be a major hurdle in seeing the deal through.

However, it is clear that Barcelona are looking for favourable economic terms.

As it stands, the two clubs have agreed on a fee of €5 million in exchange for 50% of Torre’s rights while Barcelona will reserve a buy-back option on the talented midfielder for a sum of close to €10 million to €12 million although that number is yet to be finalised.

In such a manner, should Barcelona look to sign him back, they would get a certain economic compensation in addition to his services.

Mallorca are in a rush to get the deal done at the earlier and beat the competition and their intention is to sign the player before June 30th.

Needless to say, it remains to be seen how long it takes the two clubs to agree on all formalities.
