According to Mundo Deportivo, a fight broke out between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona players when Kylian Mbappé (25) was heard celebrating in the tunnel after Tuesday night’s game.

PSG achieved a historic comeback by defeating Barcelona 4-1 at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc becoming the first French side in history to qualify for the next round of the Champions League after losing the first leg.

Celebrations ran wild at the end of the match much to the chagrin of a Barcelona team still stewing over a missed opportunity to reach the semi-finals. The hosts looked the heavy favourites after their 3-2 victory in Paris, and despite going ahead in the second leg they were pegged back by self-inflicted mistakes, such as the  Ronald Araújo (25) red card and the João Cancelo (29) penalty.

Kylian Mbappé confronted by Barcelona players

As Mbappé entered the tunnel, Barcelona players heard him shouting “It’s football and it’s on the pitch that we do our talking.” Taking it as a provocation from the Frenchman, the Barcelona players confronted Mbappé causing a pileup in the tunnel as the two teams and backroom staff, traded insults and pushed one another.

Sixty people were said to be involved in the confrontation which died down before it became more serious, as the teams were eventually separated.
