Fernando Kuyumchoglu was thrilled for Adolfo Gaich after he proved the matchwinner for Benevento at Juventus on Sunday.
Kuyumchoglu was academy boss of San Lorenzo in Argentina as Gaich was coming through the club's system.
He told TMW: "Absolutely yes and I cheered at the top of my lungs. I was watching him because I knew he would play as a starter and I always like to follow the players I have developed around the world. They are like children to me and, in the case of Gaich, I'm not sure Adolfo, despite his very young age, has already played such cartel games in Argentina, wore the shirt of a historic club like San Lorenzo and faced equally famous teams like Boca and River. How can he be afraid of Juve? Yesterday he certainly proved to be up to the Bianconeri."
Asked about Gaich's future, Kuyumchoglu also said: "Adolfo has an exceptional physical structure, a good basic technique and is a born goalscorer. In short, he has everything to continue pursuing his dream and one day wearing the jersey of a big European, as well as being more and more a protagonist with the Argentine national team.
"In the meantime, however, he wants to help Benevento to save itself."
