Kubo reveals what surprised him about Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappé during PSG clash | OneFootball

Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo has this evening provided an insight a recent exchange with Kylian Mbappé, which left the Japanese both surprised, and impressed.

Kubo and Mbappé locked horns on the pitch last week, in the Champions League’s round-of-16.

Ultimately, it was the latter who emerged on the right side of the result, netting his side’s opening goal en route to an eventual 2-0 Paris Saint-Germain triumph.

As much leaves Real Sociedad facing an uphill task, when they welcome the French champions to Anoeta for the tie’s return leg in three weeks’ time.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the aforementioned Kubo, in turn, was asked for his take on the tie, as well as, inevitably, that man Mbappé.

It is of course now common knowledge that frontman Mbappé is all set for a summer move to Spain, to link up with Real Madrid.

Having previously lined out for Los Blancos himself, Kubo was therefore asked if he had spoken to his fellow winger during last week’s matchup.

And the 22-year-old went on to confirm as much, in the process revealing that he was left impressed by the level of Mbappé’s Spanish:

“I noticed that Mbappé speaks Spanish very well when I spoke with him,” Kubo explained to Radio Marca. “He is preparing himself (for life in Spain).”
