Jules Kounde has been linked with Chelsea for over a year now, and a move to Stamford Bridge feels pretty inevitable at this point.

But in recent weeks Barcelona have entered the frame, and the France defender certainly isn’t closing the door on them.

Inside Futbol report today that he has demanded that the Spanish side match the personal terms that Chelsea have offered.

Still just 24 and looking like one of the brightest defensive prospects around, Kounde can ask for a lot of money, and Sevilla can ask for a lot of money for his transfer.

As we’ve said before, we’re no too worried about Barcelona in this race. They are struggling financially and have just signed Andreas Christensen from us to play in defence. Their priority is elsewhere.

But until we agree a fee with Sevilla, we can’t rest easy that no other team will swoop in and steal him from us.
