Barcelona’s €50 million-rated La Masia jewel has an offer from Saudi; Chelsea also keen | OneFootball

Barcelona will need to make a significant sale this summer in order to complete the much-needed signing of a left winger.

The club’s sporting department has been working in recent weeks to explore various options, and the shortlist is now clear: Luis Diaz (Liverpool), Nico Williams (Athletic Club), and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) are the three names being considered.

Negotiations have progressed with all three, but final decisions are pending due to the high costs involved. The positive news for Barça is that all three players are eager to join and are ready to make every effort to wear the Blaugrana shirt.

However, before making any signings, the club must complete a major outgoing transfer. And one of the possibilities currently being evaluated is Fermin Lopez. While Barcelona have not put him up for sale, they are not ruling out listening to offers for the youngster.

Fermin wanted by Al-Ahli

Now, according to SPORT, Fermin has a serious offer from Saudi club Al-Ahli, featuring figures that could especially be tempting for the player himself.

Barcelona, for their part, would be open to a transfer, but it must be the player who takes the initiative and requests a move. So far, he has not done that – and it is unclear whether he will.

Although Fermin was not a regular starter, he received substantial playing time under Hansi Flick and wants to stay and compete for a place in the team, even knowing it will be difficult.

Chelsea have also shown interest in the La Masia gem, but no formal offer has been made yet, though the club believes one will arrive sooner rather than later.

Selling Fermin would generate significant capital gains, as he is a homegrown player, and this would help facilitate new signings and ease the club’s salary cap restrictions under the new sporting project. The option is strong, but nothing has been finalised.

Nobody wishes to leave

The reality for Barcelona is that none of the players in the current squad want to leave – regardless of the financial incentives.

The project under Flick is convincing, and everyone at the club is aware that a winning cycle is on the horizon – something all players want to be part of.

If Fermin stays, attention could shift to Ronald Araujo, whose release clause drops to €60 million between 1 and 15 July.

But the Uruguayan has repeatedly stated that he will not leave Barcelona under any circumstances this summer. His entourage is more open to a move, but the player himself holds the final say.
