In an interview for Marca TV, Atlético Madrid captain Koke Resurrección reflected on the club’s pre-season and what he expects the team to achieve in the upcoming months.

In their four pre-season fixtures, Los Colchoneros scored 13 goals and only conceded one:

“The team has had a great preseason, we’ve been very strong, we’ve won all the games. We’ve had a pre-season where the whole team has been with us and that’s very important.”

Koke believes that the new signings are having a positive impact on the team:

“There is great internal competition and that’s positive as it is producing visible results on the pitch. They have come to improve the team and football-wise they are very good. They are contributing a lot to the team, which is very important for us.”

“The fans are very excited and we want them to continue with that excitement. The enthusiasm that they have is transmitted to us and it gives us the confidence to continue competing and fighting. Hopefully we’ll come back with the same enthusiasm that we’ve had in pre-season and it will carry on into the season.”
