Klopp’s Final Road Game Approaches

Klopp’s Last Away Match with Liverpool

As Jurgen Klopp prepares for his final away game as Liverpool manager, he will be looking for one more impressive win on the road before his final match at Anfield, next weekend. The Reds will come up against Unai Emery’s impressive Aston Villa side, who could confirm Champions League football with a positive result against Klopp’s side.

Recent Form and Team Morale

The Reds come into this one off the back of a much improved performance against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, which saw them come out as 4-2 winners. There were a number of impressive performers, who will all be looking to keep their place ahead of Monday’s clash.

Predicting Klopp’s Starting XI

With that being said, let’s take a look at who could make Klopp’s starting eleven for this one…

Defensive Line-Up Considerations

Starting with the back line, Alisson Becker will undoubtedly start in between the sticks as usual. Ahead of him though, there’s a key decision to make. Klopp hinted in his pre-match press conference that Jarrell Quansah could be in line to keep Ibou Konate out of the side once again.

The youngster would therefore partner the captain, Virgil Van Dijk, at the heart of the defence. Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will link up as the usual full-backs once again – meaning Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas will miss out once more.

Midfield Dynamics And Selections

During the week, Jurgen Klopp revealed that one of his only regrets from this season is not playing Harvery Elliott more this season. Therefore, the youngster will likely keep his place in Liverpool’s midfield for this one.

Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister will also likely keep their place in the unchanged midfield. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see the likes of Curtis Jones or Dominik Szoboszlai to get one more start before the end of the season, though.

Forward Line Analysis

Again, it’s really hard to argue against an unchanged front line for this one. Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have arguably been our two best players over the past month, so will likely keep their place.

Mohamed Salah had been out of form, but corrected that with an impressive performance against Spurs – so he will remain, too.

Bench Strength

That means Darwin Nunez will miss out after his social media antics last week, whilst Diogo Jota is set to miss out due to injury.

Conclusion and Final Line-up

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk (C), Robertson, Endo, Mac Allister, Elliott, Salah, Gakpo, Diaz Bench: Kelleher, Konate, Gomez, Bradley, Bajcetic, Jones, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Nunez
