Kingsley Coman set for spell on the sidelines with hamstring injury

FC Bayern Munich winger and France international Kingsley Coman (27) is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up what looks like a right hamstring injury during the Bavarians’ 2-0 win against Koln. Goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Thomas Müller have delayed Bayer Leverkusen’s title celebrations with Xabi Alonso’s side only needing a win this Sunday against Werder Bremen to be crowned German champions.

Only minutes into the second half, Coman pulled out of the game and had to be helped exiting the pitch by Bayern physios. Jamal Musiala replaced him. It is unfortunately another injury for Coman, who already missed France’s games against Germany and Chile through a knee injury last month.  Depending on the severity of his latest injury, Coman may face a race against the clock to be deemed fit come June and the start of the Euros, considering Didier Deschamps will reveal his squad for the tournament on May 16. L’Equipe understand that Coman will be out for weeks.

As for Bayern, Thomas Tuchel’s side will miss Coman for their season-defining game on Wednesday with the Bavarians hosting Arsenal for the Champions League quarter-finals’ return leg. The two teams drew 2-2 at the Emirates Stadium this Tuesday.
