Kingsley Coman insists he wants to “provide a spark” for Bayern Munich following the departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry.
Robben and Ribéry both left Bayern in June, having won over 20 titles and made over 500 appearances between them.
Coman – who has started all three Bundesliga games this season – claims he is happiest providing for the team ahead of earning individual praise.
“I’m not really about status,” he told L’Equipe. “I want to help my team and above all, win.
“I want to be there in terms of stats but also in the game itself – I want to provide a spark for the team.
“If I’m playing regularly and helping the team to win, then star status will come. But to be the most acclaimed player is not what I’m after.”
“I’ve developed,” the Frenchman added. “Before, I didn’t have as much diligence in my final ball because I knew I would get the ball again.
“But now, when I have to go for it, it will be with a killer instinct and a willingness to be effective every time.”
Bayern return to domestic action against RB Leipzig on September 14.
