MIAMI, Florida – Women’s football keeps breaking records, with Concacaf players serving as part of these new chapters in history around the world.

On Saturday afternoon, in front of 40,086 fans at the Etihad Stadium, Jamaica Women’s National Team captain Khadija Shaw became the all-time top scorer for Manchester City, reaching 68 goals in 82 games.

Shaw achieved this milestone in the Manchester Derby, when she scored the third goal for her team against Manchester United, the Citizens claiming the game with a 3-1 victory. In the 46’, Shaw received a pass in the United area, beating GK Mary Earps to write her name in the game and the club's history as she fired the ball into the low right corner.

This is not Shaw’s first milestone with Manchester City. In 2023, she was named Player of the Season after a great campaign in which she scored 31 goals, breaking the record of most goals scored for a player in a natural season. She also won Goal of the Season from a header against Arsenal.

Last year, Shaw not only helped her club reach new heights, but also led the Reggae Girlz at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to become the first Caribbean nation in history to qualify to the Round of 16.

Manchester City now sits within the top three positions of the WSL, looking to keep the momentum going for the rest of the season.

For both club and country, Shaw keeps being a game-changer and a player that is key to her team every time she takes the field, showing that those 68 goals are only the beginning.
