Kepa admits that Chelsea are worried about their top 4 position | OneFootball

In the space of less than two months, Chelsea have gone from fighting for the title to fighting for their lives in the battle for the Champions League.

A lead over Manchester City has evaporated, and now we’re looking over our shoulder at the chasing pack. It seemed like we had gone to a new level this season, after a few years of battling for Champions League position, but already we’ve been sucked back in.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, speaking after last night’s draw with Brighton, admitted as much. His quotes on Chelsea’s official website confirmed that the dressing room are thinking about their rivals, hot on their heels.

“We are honest. We are in good positions in all the competitions – we are in the Champions League, we have the League Cup final and the World Club Cup – but in the Premier League we have dropped points in the last month. We have to get back to winning ways because everybody is coming [up behind us],” the stopper said.

With Edouard Mendy away at the Africa Cup of Nations, Kepa has an important role to play in getting us back on track. We face Tottenham this weekend, and we really can’t look further ahead than that right now.

We need three points from that game, and even that will be just the start of a punishing run in.
