Former Strasbourg right-back Kenny Lala is making his return to Ligue 1 with Brest after breaking his contract with Olympiacos. The French fullback joined the club in February of 2021 and made 51 appearances with the Greek champions during the time with the club.
Prior to joining Olympiacos, the right-back was one of Ligue 1’s top fullbacks. While with Strasbourg the player even won the Coupe de la Ligue for the 2018/19 season. A season where he also scored 5 goals, the highest goal total he has had in a season.
Brest currently sit in 16th place on the Ligue 1 table. Noah Fadiga has been the starting right-back. The Belgian-Senegalese fullback is a good defender but does not offer what Lala does in attack. At minimum this will allow Brest more options at the position.
The French club will have to wait until the opening day of the transfer window, January 1st, before the player can officially sign with the club. However, the French fullback will be joining the club for training immediately.
