Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is reportedly set to ask the club to ‘listen to offers’ this summer, after Spurs’ Champions League hopes were all but ended following defeat to Leeds United on Saturday.

The England captain has been in sensational form this season, having netted a league-high 21 Premier League goals, while he also leads the way for assists with 13 to his name to date.

While it’s been a fine campaign on a personal level, the 27-year-old has been unable to prevent what’s been a hugely disappointing season for the club as a whole, the team currently looking set to miss out on the top-four after having squandered an initial strong start to the season.

With a shock exit from the Europa League and a Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City once again denying the forward the chance to end his trophy duck, rumours have begun to circulate that the player is keen to depart, having openly admitted himself that he is desperate to win silverware.

As per the Sun, Kane is set to request that owner Daniel Levy listens to offers for his signature this summer, amid reported interest from the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

Recent reports have suggested that Spurs would knock back any attempts to sign their star man, yet Saturday’s damaging 3-1 loss to Leeds United may have pushed the player to request an exit, with the club’s top-four hopes currently hanging by a thread.

The forward’s current deal is not set to expire until 2024, leaving Levy in no real desperate position to sell, while any potential offer from an interested party is likely to have to be around £175m, a fee that would appear to be too great amid the current financial issues as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

The report suggests that United are considering a bid of around £90m as they look to recruit a top class centre-forward, particularly with the in-form Edinson Cavani still yet to commit to another year at Old Trafford.

As for City, the departure of Sergio Aguero at the end of the season could spark the acquisition of a striking replacement, such as Kane, although recent reports have suggested the Champions League finalists are keen on Bayer Munich marksman Robert Lewandowski.
