Kaizer Chiefs are close to signing two new players: Who are they?
The Naturena-based club is making calculated moves in the transfer market, with their search for attacking reinforcements far from over. While Portuguese forward Flavio Silva's signing has already bolstered their frontline, Kaizer Chiefs remain determined to add more firepower after last season's disappointing finish outside the top eight.
Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed the club is pursuing multiple targets, with SuperSport United's Etiosa Ighodaro being a primary objective. "Ighodaro is a good player, but he belongs to another team, and there are administrative issues involved," Nabi stated. “If he joins us, great. If not, there are other strikers we're considering.”
The Tunisian tactician emphasized the need for patience as the club navigates the complexities of the transfer process. "The player—or another striker on our list—will be welcomed. But we must wait for the administrative side of things to be sorted before anything is finalized," he added.
With their attacking struggles from last season still fresh in memory, Amakhosi appear determined to ensure they don't enter the new campaign short of options up front. The club's hierarchy understands that converting chances into goals will be crucial to improving their fortunes in the upcoming season.
As the transfer window progresses, all eyes remain on Naturena to see which striker will next don the famous gold and black jersey.
