There’s little concern at Arsenal over Kai Havertz’s knee injury, despite the player pulling out of the international break with Germany.

Kai Havertz withdrew from the Germany squad over the weekend with knee problems, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann calling up Jonathan Burkardt in his place.

Though the news was a surprise and a concern to Arsenal supporters, the club are reportedly calm about it.

Charles Watts reports that the sense is that the injury is not one to be overly concerned about. Havertz was fine to finish the Southampton game, but Arsenal didn’t want to take any risks.

With the number of minutes Havertz has played recently, Watts reports that the Gunners thought it was best for him to stay, rest, and be monitored by Arsenal.

That will be welcome news for the fans, with Havertz on an excellent run of form and some tricky fixtures coming up.

Mikel Arteta’s side return from the break with an away trip to Bournemouth and a home game against Shakhtar Donetsk, but after that they face league leaders Liverpool.

The team then have four away games in a row, facing Preston North End, Newcastle United, Inter Milan, and Chelsea before the November break.

That’s not a run in which the team can afford to be missing their top scorer this season.
