Juventus to be without Cristiano Ronaldo this weekend

Cristiano Ronaldo will not travel with his Juventus team-mates as they face Benevento this weekend.

That’s according to Sky Italia, who say Andrea Pirlo wants to rest his star forward.

Juventus play eight games before Christmas and Pirlo views Saturday’s encounter as one of the best opportunities to give Ronaldo a break.

Already four points from the top of Serie A, Juve cannot afford to drop points, but they also can’t afford to lose Ronaldo to injury.

The 35-year-old has eight goals in just four league appearances so far this season, while nobody else in the squad has scored more than twice.
