Returning to Serie A action for the first since the disappointing defeat to Monza, Massimiliano Allegri’s side stormed into an early lead through their Serbian connection.

Dušan Vlahović picked up the ball and drove at the heart of the Bologna defence before releasing his international compatriot Filip Kostić. The winger seemed to have taken the ball too wide but managed to pull off an expert finish from a tight angle.

The visitors saw much of the ball in the first half but were unable to create many goal-scoring chances in what remained of a relatively uneventful first period.

Just before the hour mark, Juventus doubled their tally as Weston McKennie’s floated cross found Vlahović at the back post. The Serbian striker planted his header into the floor and beyond the reach of Łukasz Skorupski’s outstretched fingers.

Arkadiusz Milik put the game to bed three minutes later as Juve recycled a corner kick and the Polish forward hammered home a powerful first-time volley from within the penalty box.

This win sees Allegri’s side climb two places and up the seventh in Serie A whilst Bologna remain one point above the relegation zone.
