FC Barcelona have been looking to strengthen their forward line for the entirety of this summer transfer window, but with only a few days left in the market, they still have not been able to land any of their desired targets.

Nico Williams was the top priority of the Catalan side, but as things stand, it is highly unlikely that the Spanish winger will play in Blaugrana colors this season. Meanwhile, some other wingers have also been linked with Barcelona.

One such winger who currently looks the most likely to join Flick’s team is the Italian Federico Chiesa. The Juventus winger has only one year left on his contract and is not an important player in the plans of his side’s new coach, Thiago Motta.

Juventus will reportedly allow Chiesa to leave if Barcelona offer a fee of around €15 million. Chiesa will also have to make a financial sacrifice, while Barcelona will also have to ensure his registration with La Liga once he is signed.

Meanwhile, the latest developments at Juventus make it look even more likely that Chiesa will join the Blaugranes. According to SPORT, the Old Lady of Italian football have already signed Chiesa’s replacement, i.e., the Argentine forward Nicholas Gonzalez from Fiorentina, for whom they have paid €38 million. This move has already been officially announced.

Thus, Juventus have already covered for Chiesa, but even before Gonzalez’s signing, both the player and the Italian club had been clear that the time was now ripe to part ways. With only a year left on his contract, the Italians have actively and passively communicated to Chiesa to look for a new team.
