Juventus could look to rival Inter Milan to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi if they sell Dejan Kulusevsky to Spurs.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttisport, via FCInterNews, who report that a permanent sale of the Swedish international to Tottenham Hotspur could fund the Bianconeri’s move for Frattesi this summer.
It looks all but inevitable that midfielder Frattesi will leave Sassuolo during the summer transfer window.
Inter are in a strong position. The Nerazzurri have reportedly secured the agreement of the player to a transfer. They have also met with his club Sassuolo to try and make progress towards signing Frattesi.
The Neroverdi have made the price tag for Frattesi clear. The Emilians want €35 million to make a deal.
Premier League clubs Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United have also been linked. As have Paris Saint-Germain.
The player concerned has admitted that he wants to stay in Serie A. This would seem to entail that Frattesi will not make the switch to the Premier League.
Inter lead the way to sign Frattesi, but Juventus don’t feel they’re out of it just yet.
Key to the Bianconeri’s pursuit, however, would be finding the cash to swoop in for the 23-year-old.
The Neroverdi are hardly ready to offer any cut-price fees for Frattesi. Particularly not given the amount of interest that is growing in the midfielder’s signature.
Accordingly, the Bianconeri must sell players for a sizable transfer fee before they’re able to complete a deal for Frattesi. Inter are in fact in a similar situation.
According to Tuttpsport, however, Juventus know who they want to sell to fund Frattesi’s arrival.
Kulusevski’s loan move at Tottenham ends. It’s not certain that newly-appointed coach Ange Postecoglou wants to keep the 23-year-old.
However, Juventus are hoping that the Lilywhites do shell out to sign Kulsevski.
If they do, a move for Frattesi may not be far behind.
