Juventus dented Atalanta’s hopes of ending the season with a potential double by claiming the Coppa Italia.

Dušan Vlahović broke the deadlock in the opening minutes at the Stadio Olimpico as he latched onto Andrea Cambiaso’s pass to race clear of La Dea’s defence.

The Serbia international appeared to have completed his brace by nudging home Cambiaso’s 72nd-minute cross but saw the goal disallowed by VAR for an offside.

Fabio Miretti went close to putting the game beyond Gian Piero Gasperini’s side with a thunderous effort inside the area that crashed back off the crossbar.

But Juve were made to sweat on their single-goal lead during added time as head coach Max Allegri was sent off for remonstrating with the match officials.
