Juventus veteran and captain Leonardo Bonucci has stated that the side deserved to be booed after the loss to Benfica.

This is now the first time that Juve have now lost both of their first two Champions League games in history and it is also the first time in that regard for Max Allegri.

The Old Lady did go infront through an Arek Milik goal but they conceded once in the first half, with David Neres scoring once in the second half. Dusan Vlahovic did have the ball in the back of the net but Mattia de Sciglio was offside in the build-up. At the final whistle, Juve players were booed and whistled by fans.

Bonucci spoke to Prime Video (via TMW) after the game and he stated: “The whistles are right. There is little to say. We have lost a game that we absolutely should not lose. We deserve to be booed. In these cases it is I who am the captain who has to put myself out there. We are going through a moment where we find it hard to do everything.”

Bonucci also stated that he is ‘worried’ about the club’s situation and they have nothing to hide right now. He stated that Juve struggle to take control of games but they can only shut up and work hard now.
