Juventus blocked Kenan Yildiz’s transfer in the January transfer window despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, and the Old Lady’s transfer decision proved right as the Turkey international is now getting regular playing time at the Allianz Stadium.

Yildiz hadn’t yet made his senior Juventus debut as a starter in December 2023, when Arsenal and Liverpool were scouting him ahead of a potential January transfer.

However, as reported by Football Italia back then, Juventus decided not to listen to offers for their promising striker, who would become an important player for Allegri only a few weeks later.

Turkey international started his first Serie A game with Juventus just two days before Christmas, on December 23, 2023, scoring his first Serie A goal after only 12 minutes.

From that moment, he’s been getting regular playing time also due to recurrent physical issues of some of his teammates, especially Federico Chiesa and Moise Kean.

Yildiz had gained experience in senior football by playing for Juventus’ NextGen in Italy’s Serie C before being promoted to the Bianconeri’s first team in November 2023.

Yildiz has also scored twice in Coppa Italia at a senior level, so he now has three goals in 17 games across all competitions, and with a contract expiring in June 2027, he is expected to play a vital role in the next few years at Juventus.
