Inter have reached an agreement in principle to sign the 23-year-old. The Nerazzurri are gearing up for a major shake-up in the middle of the park, with several of their players attracting interest from foreign teams.

Marcelo Brozovic has been touted for a move to Saudi Arabia or Spanish champions Barcelona. Nicolo Barella has also been linked with a move to the Premier League with Newcastle United keen.

Inter want to wrap up the deal to sign Frattesi, but they face late pressure to finalise the transfer, with Juventus now showing concrete interest in the youngster.

Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna held a meeting with his Sassuolo counterpart Giovanni Carnevali to understand what it will take to snatch Frattesi from Inter’s grasp.

Sassuolo insist they have not reached a definitive agreement with the Nerazzurri, which has bolstered Juventus’ hopes of hijacking the transfer.

They will have a fight on their hands to sign the midfielder, with Sassuolo demanding €40 million. Juventus are hoping to strike a player plus cash deal involving Empoli loanee Koni De Winter.

The 21-year-old centre-back came through the youth ranks at Juventus. He spent the last season on loan at Empoli but only managed 14 Serie A appearances in an injury-laden campaign.

Milan are the third club in the race for Frattesi’s signature. The midfielder is seen as a replacement for Sandro Tonali who is attracting interest from the English top flight.

Man United are interested in the Italian midfielder, but Newcastle are reportedly closing in on the 23-year-old, who the Rossoneri value at €70m.
