Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno has attracted interest from the likes of Inter, Napoli, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur. ‘The Premier League is enticing, but I am happy in Serie A too.’
The centre-back is hoping to be part of the Italy squad going to the EURO 2024 tournament this summer and that could further raise his profile on the transfer market.
He turns 25 in June and is under contract with Toro until 2028, but is widely expected to move on at the end of the season.
“My dream is to win the Champions League and the World Cup, just like all children who love football,” Buongiorno told Sport Mediaset.
“The Premier League is certainly enticing, but I am happy in Serie A too. We’ll see what happens in future.”
Milan had already tried to pick up the defender in the January transfer window, but Torino needed their central defender and he also picked up an injury to slow the scenario down.
Now the Rossoneri face strong competition from Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham, while other Premier Leage sides are known to be keeping an eye on the Italy international too.
Torino are hoping to hang on to Buongiorno, especially after he was made captain, but the price-tag is likely to be in the region of €50m.
